Solo Show for Lenczowski Watercolors at the Daystar Gallery

Twenty paintings were on exhibit from September 6th to October 6th 2017 at the Daystar Gallery in Northwest Washington, D.C.  Two of Susan’s watercolors, “Longboat on Tiber River” and “Garden at Dumbarton Oaks,” can be seen below.

BWS Mid-Atlantic Exhibit, 2017

Susan’s watercolor “Ice Skater at Georgetown Harbor” was selected by the Baltimore Watercolor Society for display in its annual Mid-Atlantic Show, which is considered the most competitive juried watercolor exhibit in the region.  

Her painting was displayed at the Black Rock Center for the Arts in Germantown, Maryland from June 17 through July 15.  The collection was judged by Frank Eber.

March Torpedo Factory Art Center Show, 2017

“Abandoned Cottage,” a watercolor scene of the Eastern Shore, appeared in the March 2017 exhibit at the Alexandria Virginia Art League Gallery.  Also that month, Four of Susan’s watercolors appeared at the 42nd Annual Women’s Club of Chevy Chase, two of which are shown below.

Friendship Village Center Art Exhibition

Susan’s watercolor “Washington Monument" was in a March 2017 exhibit of original watermedia paintings produced by current members of the Washington Water Color Association.  The show was judged by artist and teacher Michelle Harrington, a Smithsonian fellow.

“Georgetown Sunset” was included in this popular regional all-media exhibition in the month of December.  The show was located at the Yellow Barn Gallery in Glen Echo National Park in Maryland.

“Winter Tree” Receives First Prize Award

Four of Susan’s watercolors were shown in the Spring 2016 Women’s Club of Chevy Chase Show, with a First Prize awarded to her painting “Winter Tree,” shown below.

French Quarter Musicians

In January 2016, Susan's work can be seen at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery in Rockville, Maryland in a Baltimore Watercolor Society Show, which will begin on Sunday, January 10. This exhibit will display her painting, "French Quarter Musicians," through January 29th.


2015 Year End Update

Susan's painting "Table at Piney Point" recently appeared in a Baltimore Watercolor Society show at Slayton House in Columbia, Maryland.  This show ran from October 29-December 12.

Currently, another of her recent paintings, "Georgetown Sunset," is on view at the Annual Yellow Barn Members' Show in Glen Echo National Park in Maryland.  It can be seen through December 20.



Two other watercolors are currently on display in a second show at the Washington Water Color Association and National League of Pen Women's Landscape Exhibition at the Friendship Heights, Maryland, Village Center Gallery. "Gate at River Farm" and "Georgetown Canal" can be seen below.

Honorable Mention at June 2015 Art League Exhibit

During the month of June, Susan's watercolor "Crew Team, Georgetown" can be seen at the Art League Gallery in the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Va.  Her painting was awarded an honorable mention by the exhibit's judge, Claire Kelly, Director of Exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.

First place award in Chevy Chase Women's Club Annual Show

In the Chevy Chase Women's Club Annual Show, Susan's painting "Ice Skater at Washington Harbor" was awarded first place in watercolor.  The show took place in April 2015.

"Small Works" and "Large Works" Exhibition at the Art League

Susan's painting "Sitting in the Sun" was selected for the "'Small Works' and 'Large Works'" Exhibition for the month of November at the Art League Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia.  Because the painting was sold almost immediately, it is no longer on display at the show.

Washington Watercolor Association Exhibit at Women's National Democratic Club

Susan's painting "Union Station" has been displayed over the months of October and November at the Women's National Democratic Club's Fall Exhibition of paintings by members of the Washington Watercolor Association.

Neo-Expressionism: Art League Exhibit

A photo collage composition by Susan Lenczowski is currently on display at the Art League's juried "Neo-Expressionism All-Media Exhibit" in Alexandria, Virginia.

The work can be seen at the Torpedo Factory Art Center through July 7, 2014.



Susan Lenczowski accepted as a member of the Washington Water Color Association

Susan Lenczowski was accepted as a member of the Washington Water Color Association (WWCA) following a juried committee review of her work and credentials.  The WWCA was founded in 1896.  She plans to enter a watercolor in the WWCA's June "Red, White, and Blue" exhibit at the Friendship Village Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Chevy Chase Women's Club Annual Art Show

Susan Lenczowski exhibited two paintings in the Chevy Chase Women's Club Annual Art Show: "Mailboxes, St. George's Island" and "Watering Cans II."  The exhibit took place in March 2014.

Bishop's Garden Re-Dedication

A watercolor by Susan Lenczowski was presented to National Cathedral Bishop Mariann Budde by Martha Lewis at a ceremony for the re-dedication of the Bishop's Garden following a three-year renovation period. The painting, shown below, depicts a Norman Arch gate to the medieval garden.

June show

In June, Susan will be exhibiting a number of her recent paintings in a joint show with her Washington watercolor colleague Ann Lee.

An opening reception at the Daystar Gallery will be held on Friday, June 7th from 5:00-7:00 PM.  Located in the Parish Center at Blessed Sacrament Church, the exhibit will display subjects of local interest and abroad.

In April, Susan was awarded first prize for watercolor in the 38th Annual Art Exhibit of the Women's Club of Chevy Chase.  The painting, entitled "Table with Fruit, Piney Point," is pictured below.
